SALT LAKE CITY (September 24, 2008) - On Monday, September 29, the Utah Jazz Bear will participate in the fifth annual Mascot Bowl at Lehi High School.
The Lehi 8th grade football team will match up against an All-Star Mascot team, coached by Jason Buck, former NFL and BYU defensive lineman. Celebrity quarterbacks for the All-Star Mascots include Craig Bolerjack, play by play announcer for the Utah Jazz and Alema Harrington, host of "Powerhouse" on KJZZ.
Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. including food, prizes, contests, and a silent auction with fireworks set to conclude the event. The game ball will be delivered by skydivers. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased in advance at the Lehi High School financial office, Scrooge and Marley's in Lehi, or at the gate the night of the event. Lehi High School is located at 180 North 500 East in Lehi, just off Interstate 15.
The annual event is designed to raise money for the "Firemen and Friends for Kids" charity which was established to offer underprivileged children the opportunity to shop for presents during Christmas time. This year's event will honor Captain Harold Terry of the Lehi Police Department, who was shot and injured in the line of duty earlier this summer.
In addition to the game, there will be photo and autograph opportunities with the mascots, Jazz Dancers, and celebrity coaches and quarterbacks.
