INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — No. 2 seed Louisville (24-8) vs. No. 15 seed Jacksonville State (20-14)
First round, Midwest Region; Indianapolis, 2:45 p.m. EDT
BOTTOM LINE: After missing the tournament last year because of a school-imposed ban, coach Rick Pitino has Louisville looking to stick around this year. Jacksonville State is trying to avoid a one-and-done showing in its first NCAA appearance.
BEATING THE BEST: Louisville already has four wins this season against conference champs — Kentucky (SEC), Purdue (Big Ten), Wichita State (Missouri Valley) and Texas Southern (Southwest Athletic).
SURPRISE: After going 8-23 in 2015-16, Jacksonville State was picked to finish last in the Ohio Valley Conference.
DID YOU KNOW: Louisville won national titles the only other times it was seeded second (1980, 1986).
