BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter and other top Idaho elected officials agreed to pay a $150,000 legal bill using funds originally intended to help Idaho navigate state sovereignty conflicts with the federal government. The amount covers the attorney fees in a 2015 lawsuit filed by Planned Parenthood of the Greater Northwest and Hawaiian Islands over two anti-abortion laws banning the prescription of abortion-inducing drugs via telemedicine.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Federal authorities have approved a plan to create a fuel break system along 271 miles of roads in southwest Idaho and southeast Oregon intended to limit the size of destructive rangeland wildfires and protect habitat for sage grouse. The U.S. Bureau of Land Management in a decision announced Wednesday says the fuel breaks will be along existing roads on BLM-managed land in and around a 2015 rangeland wildfire that scorched about 436 square miles.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Republicans inside the Idaho House have advanced legislation to reverse two anti-abortion laws. The House debate on Wednesday at times was emotional as Republican lawmakers argued they were torn to vote in favor of a bill that loosens the state's hard anti-abortion stance.

PRESTON, Idaho (AP) — An eastern Idaho snowmobiler separated from his group during a blizzard and lost in the backcountry for more than 24 hours has been rescued after taking shelter in a snow cave. Franklin County Sheriff David Fryar says searchers found 20-year-old Kacey Hebdon of Preston at about 5 p.m. Monday.
