A small group of Palestinian journalists demonstrated Saturday in Gaza City to demand the release of two kidnapped reporters working for the US network Fox.
The wife of one of the reporters abducted earlier this month by Palestinian gunmen and Fox News Jerusalem bureau chief Eli Fastman took part in the demonstration organised by the journalists' union.
The group of around 30 demonstrators were holding banners calling for "the immediate release" of the two reporters and demanded that militant groups not use kidnappings for political goals.
No group has claimed responsibility for the abductions and the whereabouts of US reporter Steve Centanni and cameraman Olaf Wiig of New Zealand remain unknown five days after they went missing.
Wiig's wife, who met Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas, made a passionate plea for her husband's release.
"My husbdand came to this region because he wanted to be here," Anita McNaught said. "These men need to be released"
