THE ROAD — Ah, the classic complaint of bad Utah drivers.

We tailgate, pass on the right, merge poorly, and think the carpool lane is the “free speeding lane.”

As a born-and-raised Utahn, I can call out our bad driving shame with the confidence (and slight road rage) of a recovering incompetent driver. However, I can proudly say that each time I've realized my driving ills, I've done my best to cure them. But I am only one woman, people. We must all work together to make our collective driving experience better.

That's why I appreciate this PSA video from an Indiana state trooper about one of the worst offences from Utah drivers — and perhaps drivers everywhere — the non-use of blinkers.

The trooper delivers his performance in a delightfully sarcastic way, calling the blinker a "new" feature that will make the roads safer. He even gives a lovely tongue-in-cheek demonstration of this eighth wonder of the world.

Even if you don't enjoy the video, I hope you feel inspired to drive with a more generous and loving spirit, which will hopefully include using your blinker a little more. As our own state troopers would say, let's help our roads have #zerofatalities.
