IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Bill Hathaway, a journalist who worked at newspapers around Idaho before becoming the editor at the Post Register, has died. He was 67.
Family members tell the Post Register (http://bit.ly/2kscsKX) that Hathaway died Saturday in Idaho Falls of cardiac arrest.
Hathaway was the managing editor at the Post Register in the 1980s and guided the paper through a period of award-winning journalism and the digital transformation.
In recent years he wrote books about the Post Register and the city of Idaho Falls. Most recently he was working to complete a master's degree in history from Idaho State University.
Hathaway grew up in St. Anthony and graduated from Idaho State University.
He worked at the Blackfoot News, Idaho Statesman, Rigby Star and Lewiston Tribune before arriving at the Post Register.
