Dhaka (dpa) - Bangladesh's Poet Laureate Shamsur Rahman died Thursday at a local hospital in the capital Dhaka, family sources said.
Rahman was 77 and suffering from cardiac problems and liver failure when he was admitted to hospital on August 6.
Rahman was highly critical of Islamic militancy and autocratic rule in his literary works.
