SALT LAKE CITY — Ted Cruz pokes fun at his resemblance to Duke men’s basketball guard Grayson Allen, Korean Basketball League All-Stars do the “Mannequin Challenge”, and Jamal Murray pulls a Jordan-esque move against the Utah Jazz. Ted Cruz pokes fun at Grayson Allen resemblance, outwits Deadspin

It seems that many politicians don’t have much of a sense of humor.

If you have previously put Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in that category, it may be time to reconsider your categorization.

The former Republican presidential hopeful has been trying to reinvent himself in 2017, according to Politico. The media outlet said Cruz appears intent on building and rebuilding personal relationships with fellow Republican senators. One of things Cruz is doing is having a weekly basketball game in the Russell Senate Office Building in Washington D.C., urging colleagues to attend.

Deadspin, being the jokesters that they can be, asked the public to send them a photo of Cruz playing in one of his weekly basketball games.

You’d think that’d be the end of it. But out of nowhere, Cruz came back with the perfect response, using one of sports social media’s most talked topics: the resemblance of Cruz to controversial Duke star guard Grayson Allen.

@Deadspin what do I win? pic.twitter.com/9XuRmmIkJS — Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) January 25, 2017

It counts — and the foul! Rack up points for Teddy.

Knowing they’ve been defeated, Deadspin weakly responded with a crude comment that we will not post here. Cruz replied to said comment with a Ron Burgundy “Boy, that escalated quickly” GIF. Well played again by Cruz.

Regardless of whether you agree with his political views or not, you must admit that Ted Cruz pulled a good one on Deadspin while showing a good sense of humor.

Korean League All Stars do the ‘Mannequin Challenge’ in the middle of All-Star Game

The “Mannequin Challenge” swept the world last fall ... for some reason. Everyone was doing it: teachers, athletes and even Hillary Clinton.

The “Mannequin Challenge” may be best kept in 2016, but that didn’t stop the stars of the Korean Basketball League from pulling the move a few days ago — in the middle of their All-Star Game.

Not bad, All-Stars.

Now, let us never see the “Mannequin Challenge” again.

Jamal Murray looking like Jordan against the Jazz

Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray may have only scored 5 points in his team’s 103-93 win over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night, but he pulled the highlight of the night with a Michael Jordan-esque mid-air hand switch lay-up, made famous by "His Airness" in the 1991 NBA Finals.

Somewhere in Charlotte, M.J. is smiling.
