SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Former Weber State College President Rodney Brady has died at his home in Salt Lake City. He was 83.

Brady, who died Monday, severed as president of the college in Ogden from 1978-85. After that, he was the president and CEO of the Deseret Management Corp. — a holding company of for-profit entities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints — until he retired in March 2009.

Deseret Management vice president Roland Radak told The Deseret News (http://tinyurl.com/znfre42) that Brady had been in declining health for about a year.

Radak says Brady was a "man of integrity" and the "consummate goal-setter." He says one of Brady's favorite memories was giving a Book of Mormon to Winston Churchill during his Mormon mission to England.
