OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Police in Ogden say a suspect in a fatal shooting surrendered after an hours-long standoff with a SWAT team that began when he barricaded himself in an apartment.

Police Lt. Brian Eynon says the suspect surrendered peacefully Friday night about four hours after the shooting near the apartment building.

Eynon says officers were in the area on another call when they heard a gunshot at about 5 p.m. They rushed to the scene and saw a man flee into the apartment building. A wounded man was found nearby and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Eynon didn't release either man's name and said it wasn't immediately clear if they were acquainted. Both were in their 20s.
