MILAN (AP) — Investigators are trying to determine where the Berlin Christmas market attacker may have gotten logistical support to cross at least two European borders and evade capture for days before being killed in a police shootout yesterday during a routine stop in a Milan suburb. Tunisian fugitive Anis Amri's fingerprints and wallet were found in a truck that plowed into a Christmas market in Berlin on Monday night, killing 12 people and injuring 56 others.

LONDON (AP) — A man and a woman have appeared in a London court charged with a variety of terrorism-related offenses. Thirty-five-year-old Munir Hassan Mohammed is charged with preparing an act of terrorism, being a member of the Islamic State extremist group, and possessing instructions about how to build an explosive device inside a mobile phone. Rowaida El Hassan faces similar charges but is not accused of Islamic State membership. Britain's terror threat is set as "severe," indicating that officials believe an attack is highly likely.

BETHLEHEM, West Bank (AP) — The top Roman Catholic cleric in the Holy Land says he's glad that "at least the military war" in the Syrian city of Aleppo is over and that Christians there can celebrate Christmas "without fear." The Rev. Pierbattista Pizzaballa traveled from Jerusalem in a traditional Christmas Eve procession today ahead of midnight Mass in Bethlehem.

CHICAGO (AP) — The National Weather Service forecasting heavy snow and strong winds for the Dakotas, where there's a blizzard warning for tomorrow and Monday. Snow is also forecast for much of Idaho, Montana, Utah and northeast Colorado, while there's an ice storm warning for central Minnesota. Forecasters are cautioning drivers to keep alternate routes in mind and prepare for possible delays.

MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. (AP) — A Christmas Eve fire in western Pennsylvania has killed three people, including an infant. Fire officials say the blaze was reported shortly after 6 a.m. in a home in Allegheny County's Stowe Township. The 5-month-old was found on the second floor of the dwelling, while the child's grandmother and uncle were found at the bottom of the stairs. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
