UNITED NATIONS (AP) — Israel's prime minister is taking diplomatic action against some of the countries that co-sponsored a U.N. Security Council resolution approved Friday that condemns Jewish settlement construction on occupied territories seized in 1967. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced the steps early Saturday after the U.S. broke with past practice and chose not to veto the measure. Nations selected for diplomatic retaliation include New Zealand and Senegal.
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — Protests seeking the removal of South Korea's president are spilling over into Christmas Eve. Lawmakers impeached President Park Geun-hye (goon-hay) for corruption earlier this month, but the Constitutional Court has up to six months to decide whether Park should permanently step down or be reinstated. There is tension because Park's conservative supporters plan to gather in nearby streets.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President-elect Donald Trump has tweeted his agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin's comment about the U.S. presidential election. Putin said at a marathon news conference on Friday that Democrats are "humiliating themselves" by accusing Russia of tampering in U.S. presidential politics. Trump tweeted "So true!" U.S. intelligence agencies all agree that the Russians hacked Democratic emails. The CIA and FBI say the interference was aimed at supporting Trump.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The brother of "Star Wars" actress Carrie Fisher is cautioning fans not to listen to speculation about his sister's health. Todd Fisher says she's receiving excellent care at an intensive care unit where she was taken after a medical emergency aboard a flight from London to Los Angeles. Fisher, who is 60, is considered a part of Hollywood royalty. Her parents are Debbie Reynolds and the late singer Eddie Fisher.
APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — Officials at a suburban Green Bay, Wisconsin, airport say the Minnesota Vikings' team plane slid off a runway Friday afternoon in snowy conditions. A rear wheel became stuck in the grass as the aircraft was taxiing. The airport didn't have a staircase tall enough so the fire department was called in to remove players and staffers two at a time. The Vikings take on the Packers on Saturday.
