YUBA LAKE STATE PARK, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a driver who led police on a high-speed chase on Interstate 15 in central Utah died after crashing the car.
Utah Highway Patrol officials say a trooper attempted to stop the driver's vehicle Saturday evening on northbound Interstate 15 near Yuba Lake State Park.
The driver failed to pull over and drove off.
Authorities say the driver lost control, veered left off the road and rolled through the center median.
Highway Patrol officials say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene and a female passenger was taken to a hospital.
Their names haven't been released yet.
The Utah County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash while the State Bureau of Investigation is leading a criminal investigation.
