MADRID (AP) — Spanish runner Adel Mechaal has been cleared of a temporary suspension and will compete in the European cross country championships on Sunday.
The IAAF removed the temporary suspension of Mechaal for allegedly having missed doping tests, the Spanish athletics federation said on Friday.
The clearance came hours after the federation announced he couldn't participate in the championships in Chia, Italy.
Mechaal won the silver medal in the 5,000 meters at the European track championships in July.
