WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — Devontae Cacok and Chris Flemmings notched career highs with 34 points apiece, C.J. Bryce had a personal best with 25 points, and UNC Wilmington set a school record for points with a 126-113 win over Division-II Pfeiffer on Saturday.
Cacok, who tallied a career-best 19 rebounds — seven offensive — made 16 of 17 from the field, leading the Seahawks to a 60 percent (42-70) shooting performance. Flemmings was 12 of 18 overall and 6 of 9 on 3-pointers.
Flemmings' 3-pointer with two seconds left in the first half opened an eight-point lead, and the Seahawks never trailed in the second half, though Pfeiffer stayed within striking distance throughout.
A.J. Clark had 27 points for Pfeiffer, which entered as the top-scoring team in Division II. Mike Smith added 23 points and four steals.
The teams combined for 62 fouls and 88 free-throw attempts.
