CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A jury has convicted a Casper man of stabbing his roommate to death. The Casper Star-Tribune reports Don Johns was convicted Friday of first-degree murder in the August 2015 death of 49-year-old Donald Wickersham. Both men had been drinking with friends the night of the killing, but the defense and the prosecution disagree on which roommate was the aggressor in the fight. Wickersham was stabbed 29 times.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming man pleaded guilty Friday to involuntary manslaughter in the death of an infant whose disappearance prompted an unsuccessful search of a northern Colorado landfill this month for his remains. Authorities still haven't found the body of 13-month-old Silas Ojeda, who was reported missing late last month by his grandfather.

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Interior Secretary Sally Jewell will be in Montana Monday to make an announcement about the conservation of public lands near Yellowstone National Park. The visit comes after Montana elected officials, business owners and environmentalists raised concerns about two gold mining proposals just north of Yellowstone. U.S. Sen. Jon Tester last month asked the Obama administration to block mining in the area by withdrawing 31,400 acres from federal mining and leasing laws.

WASHINGTON (AP) — States that voted for Hillary Clinton in last week's presidential election reported stronger job growth in the previous year than states that supported Donald Trump, according to data released by the Labor Department Friday. Large cities where voters were more likely to support Trump also lagged in job growth, a separate analysis shows.
