LOGAN — Shane Rector scored 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting to lead the Utah State men's basketball team to a 96-53 rout of Bristol in an exhibition victory Wednesday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
Former Wasatch Academy star Koby McEwen had eight points, four rebounds and three assists for the Aggies, including a monster alley-oop to Rector to give the Aggies a 63-35 lead with 13:34 left in the game.
Quinn Taylor added 12 points and six rebounds for Utah State, Norbert Janicek supplied 11 points, nine rebounds and three assists, and former Bountiful High standout Sam Merrill supplied eight points for the Aggies, who played 12 players for 11 minutes or longer.Michael Crosby had 16 points and five rebounds for Bristol, an Anaheim, California-based school that competes in the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association.
Utah State next hosts Idaho State at 7 p.m. MT Saturday. The Bengals lost at Utah Valley on Wednesday night.
