BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Two prosecutors who were elected to positions in Boise and Payette County have already resigned from their posts.

Boise County Prosecutor Ross Pittman, who ran unopposed in Tuesday's election, has resigned and has been appointed to a job at the Payette County Prosecutor's office, The Idaho Statesman reported (http://bit.ly/2eoFetU). Payette County Prosecutor Anne-Marie Kelso has also resigned from her position days after winning her re-election bid.

Pittman was appointed to the Boise County prosecutor's job in May, a month after Jolene Maloney left after she was charged with a felony DUI.

Pittman was a write-in for the May primary where he won decisively over Maloney and Eagle attorney Aaron Tribble.

Pittman did not return a request for comment.

Boise County Commissioner Alan Ward said the Republican Central Committee was notified Thursday of Pittman's departure. The committee has 15 days to recommend three candidates to commissioners for the position.

Kelso won her fourth election on Tuesday, but she had already decided to take a position with Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon. Thursday is her last day in the prosecutor's office. She says she decided to take the position too late to be removed from the ballot.

"I needed a change after 20 years," she said.
