MURRAY, Utah (AP) — Police say someone vandalized nearly three dozen vehicles overnight at a used car dealership in Murray. Salt Lake City's KSL-TV reports that the crime occurred at Central Auto sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Dealership manager Russ Smith says damages could total more than $75,000.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Canadian man has been banned from U.S. public lands for five years for illegally wakeboarding on the Bonneville Salt Flats. The Salt Lake Tribune reported Friday that Parker Heuser pleaded guilty to several Bureau of Land Management citations. The BLM began an investigation in May after seeing social media photos of three costumed men wakeboarding.
PARK CITY, Utah (AP) — A teenager charged with distribution of a new synthetic drug that killed two 13-year-old Park City boys has made his first appearance in juvenile court by phone. Defense attorney Tara Isaacson says the 15-year-old boy was calling into the hearing Friday because he is in treatment. The boy faces charges of distribution of a controlled or counterfeit substance and reckless endangerment.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Salt Lake City man has been sentenced to one year in jail for torturing and killing his girlfriend's puppy. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that 20-year-old Mikah Johnson received the sentence Friday but also got credit for eight months served while waiting for the case to proceed. The dog was found dead in August 2015.
