BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Barcelona says defender Jeremy Mathieu will be sidelined for about three weeks because of a right foot injury.
Tests conducted Wednesday showed the extent of the injury, which the France international sustained during a 1-0 loss to Espanyol in the Catalan Super Cup.
Barcelona, which rested its top players in Tuesday's cup match, hosts last-place Granada in the Spanish league on Saturday. Fellow defenders Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba will also miss the game through injury.
