NEW YORK (AP) — He won't be at "Today," tomorrow. NBC News has fired "Today" show host Billy Bush, whose yuk-yuks can be heard with Donald Trump on a 2005 "Access Hollywood" videotape in which Trump says he kissed and groped women and could do it because he was a "star." Bush, who said he was "embarrassed and ashamed," had been suspended. Bush, who had been at "Today" for two months, is the nephew of Republican former President George H.W. Bush.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Some supporters of Donald Trump apparently share his displeasure with Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan. At an event in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ryan's home state, the crowd broke into chants that "Paul Ryan sucks!" Trump has criticized the Ryan and other GOP leaders for not pledging full support. Ryan has said he was sickened by Trump's comments about women and won't appear with him.
KHAZER, Iraq (AP) — Iraq's Kurdish peshmerga fighters have led the initial assault on Mosul, a northern Iraq city that is under control of the Islamic State group. The offensive is being launched in coordination with airstrikes from the U.S.-led coalition. Kurdish forces are moving carefully because of booby-trapped explosives left behind by the extremists.
UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The United Nations' special envoy for Yemen says the warring parties in the Arab nation have agreed to a 72-hour cease-fire which will take effect just before midnight Wednesday. The fighting in Yemen pits Shiite rebels, known as Houthis (HOO'-theez), against a U.S.-backed, Saudi-led coalition supporting the internationally recognized government.
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — One of NASA's main delivery companies has launched its first space station shipment from Virginia in two years. Tonight's launch of Orbital ATK's unmanned Antares rocket was the first since a launch explosion on Oct. 28, 2014, that wrecked the pad and destroyed everything on the space station supply run. The capsule is loaded with more than 5,000 pounds of food, equipment and research.
