LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Though Utah State University's enrollment once again dropped, officials say the minor change is nothing compared to previous years.
The Herald Journal reports (http://bit.ly/2dW8rdb ) that according to headcount figures for the fall semester, USU's enrollment dropped slightly from 22,141 full-time students to 21,974, a decrease of less than one percent.
USU Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Services and Retention John Mortensen says the decrease is nothing compared to the year before, when schools saw a significant drop in enrollment after The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints lowered the minimum age at which men and women could serve on missions.
Mortensen says around 22,000 students is likely the school's new normal.
