BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A homeowners association has purchased parts of the long-troubled Tamarack Resort near Donnelly, Idaho. The Tamarack Municipal Association purchased the property from the bank group Newtrac, and will now control all skiing operations. The golf course and other parts of the resort are still owned by other entities. Tamarack opened in 2004, but the original owners went bankrupt a few years later and the resort has struggled ever since.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A northern Idaho resort is being sold for $5 million. The Spokesman-Review (http://bit.ly/2e74UY6) reports that Jeld-Wen Holdings Inc., which has owned the resort for 20 years, is selling the property to an undisclosed buyer. The resort in Kellogg includes a ski operation, a golf course, condos and an indoor waterpark.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A man convicted of child sexual assault in Colorado more than a decade ago has been sentenced to federal prison on identity theft charges. The Spokesman-Review reports that 50-year-old Kevin Weinreis pleaded guilty to using another person's name, Social Security number and birthdate to apply for a passport with his photo on it. He lived in California and Tensed, Idaho, under the false identity.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A conservation group has filed a lawsuit contending the U.S. Forest Service is violating environmental laws by issuing grazing permits to central Idaho livestock growers with a long history of violating permit restrictions. Western Watersheds Project in the lawsuit filed Wednesday says the Forest Service is issuing the permits in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area knowing cattle grazers aren't following guidelines.
