The way we communicate in this world is constantly changing.
In just a few months, for example, the way viewers receive television signals will change dramatically. On February 17, 2009, the nation will make the long-anticipated switch to Digital TV.
We mention this as both a reminder, and by way of encouragement to all television viewers in Utah to prepare for what is coming. Of special concern are the 214,500 households in Utah that don't subscribe to cable or satellite services, but receive their television signals free, over-the-air, via an antenna. That's more than a fourth of all households in Utah with televisions. Come February 17, those analog televisions and antennae won't work without a DTV converter box.
To learn more about the options for switching to DTV, KSL encourages our viewers and listeners to visit a website sponsored by the National Association of Broadcasters. The website, DTVAnswers.com, is easy to navigate and clearly explains why the change is coming and how individuals can go about making it in their own homes.
That website again, is DTVAnswers.com
The long planned switch from analog to digital is less than six months away. Now is the time for households to start planning for this major revolution in television broadcasting!
