SALT LAKE CITY — Three more stories from the world of sports in this week’s From Left Field.

1. Sidney Crosby recognizes old intern now working with Secret Service during White House trip

There were some memorable moments when the Pittsburgh Penguins visited the White House Thursday in celebration of their latest Stanley Cup title run. One was that President Barack Obama wasted no time making a good Phil Kessel joke, pleasing hockey fans everywhere.

The other, the moment that superstar Sidney Crosby recognized a former Penguins intern is now a member of the Secret Service and made sure to say hello and shake his hand. The image of Crosby, wearing a tuxedo in the shot, shaking the Secret Service man's hand was captured and posted by the team.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Secret Service agent was a Penguins intern in 2009. While it’s probably easy to forget an intern seven years later, the run-in wasn’t the first time during the offseason that the two-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner and Stanley Cup winner has flashed his good memory.

In August, Crosby spotted a plea from a fan to sign a replica jersey of his dangling off a sign on a road near Crosby’s hometown in Nova Scotia. Though the fan removed the sign and jersey, Crosby remembered where the house was two weeks later, visited for 20 minutes and signed the jersey.

2. Kyrie Irving’s new nickname

Kyrie Irving has done plenty of damage to opposing point guards and now has an amazing new nickname and design to prove it.

On Thursday, the point guard for the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers posted a picture of himself wearing a T-shirt featuring Irving in undertaker clothing and the phrase “Ankletaker” beneath it.

Scott Sargent, editor of WFNY in Cleveland, tweeted out a good look at the design.

> This is the Ankletaker graphic. It's beyond incredible. [pic.twitter.com/VBsqGYChlX](https://t.co/VBsqGYChlX) > > — Scott @ WFNY (@WFNYScott) [October 6, 2016](https://twitter.com/WFNYScott/status/784112543010852865)

The new nickname for the man already known as “Uncle Drew” for all his Pepsi commercials, is arguably now near the top of best nicknames of current NBA players.

3. Baby hands out fist bumps before hockey game

It’s never too early to get the young ones involved in sports, as seen by the time a little Detroit Lions fan got treated to quite an experience with the Tennessee Titans a few weeks ago.

This time around, it’s the baby who has already learned the art of first-bumping their hockey team.

In the video posted by Robert Söderlind on Wednesday, it shows a baby handing out first bumps to the Finnish hockey club Turun Palloseura before a Champions Hockey League game on Tuesday.

Turun Palloseura ended up in a 1-1 tie with IFK Helsinki in the game.

However, this may have been the top highlight of the game.
