SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) — A Northern Idaho woman has been charged in connection with a crash last month that killed one daughter and seriously injured another. Brittney Bullock is charged in Bonner County Magistrate Court with vehicular manslaughter, injury to a child and other charges.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Federal officials are taking public comments on a draft environmental analysis for grazing alternatives at a national monument in south-central Idaho. The U.S. Bureau of Land Management announced Friday that it's accepting comments on the draft Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve management plan amendment and environmental impact statement through Dec. 29.

CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — The Nampa fire chief's condition has improved after he was critically injured in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 84 last week. The Idaho Statesman says Chief Karl Malott was taken to a hospital Boise on Sept. 24 crash with critical injuries but he is now listed in fair condition.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho officials have held their first auction for timber on federal land as part of an agreement with the U.S. Forest Service intended to increase logging and reduce the severity of wildfires. Officials say the $1.4 million auction earlier this week for 4.5 million board feet on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests is part of a plan that also includes non-revenue producing projects such as stream improvements for fish.
