PBI Media, the publisher of PR News magazine, has named Chris Thomas of The Intrepid Group as one of the nation’s Top National Crisis Communicators for 2003. Thomas was honored for his work in managing the media in connection with the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping and rescue. He helped organize protocol for the Smarts to deal with the large a demanding group of journalists, helped the Amber Alert lobbying efforts, executed a “Resolution Plan” following Elizabeth’s rescue, and completed over 100 live and taped interviews with media from The New York Times to The Today Show.

The Salt Lake Chamber and the Salt Lake community will honor President Gordon B. Hinckley as “A Giant In Our City” on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. President Hinckley will be honored for his lifetime of enduring contributions to the greater Salt Lake community and its residents.
