This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

Earlier this summer I had another fun visit to the Uintah Basin. I was invited to speak to the Vernal Chamber of Commerce and while there took the opportunity to visit several outstanding Uintah Basin businesses. I have featured a few of the businesses over the summer and will feature another two tomorrow and Wednesday.

Did you know that the area is home of the world's largest Jurassic Dinosaur Quarry? Yes, the Dinosaur National Monument is located near Jensen, 20 miles east of Vernal. You can view exhibits and displays at the visitor center and learn of the life and time of the creatures entombed in the Quarry.

The world's largest concentration of Fremont Indian rock art is found in Nine-Mile Canyon and of course Utah's highest mountain is Kings Peak at over 13,500 feet.

Throughout Dinosaurland, scenic byways loop through snow-capped mountain peaks, white-water rivers, deep canyons, gentle streams, lush mountain forests and red rock deserts. The area is the home of spectacular Flaming Gorge where Utah's biggest fish are caught, and the Green River provides world-class angling. The High Uintas Wilderness Area is Utah's largest wilderness area.

So, Northeastern Utah is a paradise for fun and recreation but it is also home to outstanding business people and creative entrepreneurs. The chamber dinner honored several business leaders for their success in their vocations and their willingness to be caring, giving corporate citizens. I was delighted to greet and meet them and I'm confident you will enjoy hearing about the Uintah Care Center and the Flaming Gorge Lodge in the next two days as much as I enjoyed my interviews.

From the simple and rustic to the luxurious and exquisite, you'll find excellent accommodations and very caring, friendly people in the Uintah Basin.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
