NEW YORK (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says his economic vision of lower taxes, a dramatic expansion in some federal programs and a slimmer government running a smaller deficit would lead to booming economic growth of as much as 4 percent a year. In a speech yesterday to the Economic Club of New York, Trump says he'd reduce the tax burden by $4.4 trillion over 10 years and create 25 million jobs.

BEIRUT (AP) — A Syrian activist says the deployment of Russian troops along a main road leading into besieged rebel-held neighborhoods of the northern city of Aleppo could herald the possible arrival of humanitarian aid, perhaps as early as today. PARIS (AP) — An area in Paris that's been a magnet for migrants is the target today of a mass-evacuation by police. At least 1,600 migrants from Afghanistan, Sudan, Eritrea and elsewhere who have been living on the streets of northern Paris for weeks, are being moved to temporary shelters around the region. Officials say some refuse to go because they want to try to get to Britain.

STOCKHOLM (AP) — WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has lost another round in the Swedish court system. An appeals court has upheld a detention order for Assange, who is wanted by prosecutors in a rape investigation. He's avoided extradition to Sweden by seeking shelter at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London since 2012. Acting on behalf of Swedish investigators, an Ecuadorian prosecutor is set to question Assange in the embassy next month.
