This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

Dr. Jeffrey Earl Hansen had an idea that a major outpatient surgical center would be viable in Carbon County. A surgical center had been a dream of Price residents for over 20 years but it just never happened. Dr. Hansen believed that the area really NEEDED such a facility but there were numerous obstacles.

Dr. Hansen and his wife Lynn, who is an attorney, investigated more. They wanted to live and raise their family in Price, Utah. They didn't like the corporate environment of medicine in big communities and wanted to practice old time medicine in a community like Price.

Dr. Hansen received his M.D. from the University of California in San Francisco. He is an ophthalmologist and specializes in eye surgery but provides his patients with any service regarding the eyes and eye care. His undergraduate degree was from Stanford -- where he met Lynn who also graduated from Stanford. He completed his residency in Florida and had strong ideas of how he wanted to practice and treat his patients.

I had a wonderful experience as Dr. Hansen and Lynn walked me through the beautiful new Eastern Utah Surgical Center. What a view! The facility is located high on a bluff overlooking downtown Price with a gorgeous view to the north of the mountains. The building just opened in late January of this year and has over 10,500 square feet of office, operating rooms and all of the latest equipment to serve patients in Carbon, Emery, San Juan and Grand counties. No longer will patients have to "go over the mountain" to secure outpatient surgical treatments.

Dr. Hansen and his wife Lynn are rightfully proud and pleased with their decision to go with their strong feelings about the need for such a facility in Carbon County. And you know, the people of Price are equally proud and delighted.

For Zions bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
