Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel changes. Vicki Varela is the newest member of the Utah Transit Authority Board of Trustees. Steven Christensen is the new chair of The Utah League of Credit Unions board of governors.

Wells Fargo was the title sponsor for the BYU/Wells Fargo High School Track Invitational that was held last week at Brigham Young University’s Cougar Track in Provo. About 4,000 high school athletes from 120 schools from seven western states participated.
Les Schwab Tire Centers announced the opening of its newest Utah location in Midvale at 144 West 7200 South. This joins the Les Schwab Centers in Salt Lake, Bountiful, Centerville, and Ogden. It is the 355th center nationwide.
Dr. Randal Ellsworth, recipient of the 2000 Utah Humanitarian of the Year Award, will speak at the Chamber’s next Breakfast of Champions on Thursday, May 15 at 7:30 a.m. at the Shriner’s Hospital. Come hear Dr. Ellsworth’s fascinating story as part of the Rose Foundation, an organization that operates three schools in Guatemala. In addition to teaching the basics, these schools also provide education in sanitation, English, computer skills and elementary biology.
