Doug Bagley got started in the moving business in 1968 after he took out a student loan to buy Bill's Moving from William E. Bills. Since he kept receiving calls for Bill, Doug changed the name of the company to Pioneer Moving & Storage. He later added A-1 to the title to distinguish the company from other movers as the premier moving company in Utah. Initially, A-1 Pioneer Moving functioned solely as a local Utah moving and storage company, but over the years the company's market has expanded. Doug and his team of professionals can now move almost anything, to just about anywhere in the world.
Doug prides himself in giving businesses, individuals and families a complete array of moving options to best fit their budget without compromising quality. Since A-1 Pioneer Moving is an official Penske dealer, customers can simply rent a truck and do the rest themselves, or hire one crew that packs, loads and delivers their belongings -- a full service not available with many other moving companies. Doug tells me he likes to "pleasantly pamper people and their belongings," so he offers motor homes for rent to those customers who want to take a short vacation in between the moving process.
In addition, A-1 Pioneer Moving offers the only delivery and pickup of portable self-storage containers in Utah. Customers can elect to have a mobile storage unit brought to their home directly, so they can fill it up themselves. Then A-1 Pioneer Moving picks up the container and stores it in a heated and air-conditioned warehouse with a high-tech security system. Doug tells me the storage facility at A-1 Pioneer Moving is "as neat as a pin" without a speck of dust!
