Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel changes. George E. Claffey was named as the interim Chief Financial Officer of ClearOne Communications. Questar Corporation announced the retirement of Nick Rose, President and CEO of Questar Regulated Services. He will retire on April 30th after being with Questar for 34 years. Alan K. Allred will succeed Rose on May 1st as the new President and CEO. Strategic Staffing hired Richard Tripp as the branch manager for the new Strategic Staffing office on Redwood Road in West Jordan.

The Utah District office of the U.S. Small Business Administration approved 235 loans for the first quarter of fiscal year 2003. This is up 30 percent over the 165 loans made last year during the same period.

Questar's Board of Directors approved the company's 233rd consecutive quarterly dividend without a reduction.

Dr. Ron Cohn, a senior consultant at Ralston Consulting Group, led a strategic planning effort with the Board of the state association of Associated Builders and Contractors. Dr. Cohn led a two-day strategy session that mapped out the association's key initiatives for the next three years.
