THIS IS MICHAEL DE GROOTE FROM THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER, WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT

Several Salt Lake Businesses report personnel changes. Larry G. Mankin, who had resigned as President and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber in October, has accepted the position as the new CEO for the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber in California. The Salt Lake office of Onsite Companies , a national recruiting and staffing firm, has announced Daniel Allison as their new Account Manager and Tina Salisbury as their new Environmental Sales Manager.

Christopherson Travel Group has been selected to provide full-service travel management to Headwaters Inc., a fossil fuels technology company. Headwaters recently acquired ISG Resources, which already had a Christopherson Travel Group onsite travel office.

The Chamber’s goodwill ambassadors, The Salt Shakers, have elected their 2003 executive committee. The new Head Shaker will be Bob Kooyman from Cache Valley Electric. The Vice Head Shaker is John Pitcher from Equitable Life and Casualty Insurance Company, and the Salty Scribe or Treasurer, is Rich Hazel of Bird Construction (USA) Incorporated. The Chamber and The Salt Shakers would also like to thank Phil Riesen of Phil Riesen Talent & Production for his tenure as Head Shaker.

Every year the Chamber honors the best small business successes at the Giant Step Small Business Awards. Show a small business how much you appreciate them by nominating them for this award. Nominations are being accepted through the end of December. Call the Chamber for a nomination form at 328-5053, or download a nomination form at saltlakechamber.org.
