LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Georgetown police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old Georgetown College football player after he jumped down a flight of stairs at a fraternity house.
Police Chief Mike Bosse told the Lexington Herald-Leader (http://bit.ly/2bKExY1 ) that Colson Machlitt, also known as Johnnie, apparently hit his head after jumping from one flight of stairs to another at the Lambda Chi Alpha house on campus. Bosse said there's no suspected foul play.
The incident happened early Sunday. The Fayette County coroner's office said Machlitt died of traumatic brain injury Monday afternoon at University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Machlitt was a sophomore defensive lineman from Villa Hills.
