The Summit Group Communications received four Golden Spike Awards. The awards are given by local chapters of the Public Relations Society of America and International Association of Business Communicators. The Summit Group won in the government relations/public affairs, writing, special purpose publications, and brochures categories.

Wells Fargo Bank came to the rescue of P.J's Forgotten Children, a charity that is concentrating on providing Christmas for over 500 children and families affected by mental illness. P.J.'s Forgotten Children could not afford its own office space, so Wells Fargo donated the use of a building at 710 South 200 West.

U.S. Translation Company translated SOS Staffing Services employment application into Spanish. They also translate Thomson Multimedia's monthly newsletters into French, German, and Flemish.

Dan Phelps, owner of Ruth's Diner in Emigration Canyon, has purchased Falcon's Ledge, a fly-fishing and adventure lodge in Northeastern Utah.
