THIS IS MICHAEL DE GROOTE FROM THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER, WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT

Third & Main is presenting their second annual “Home for the Holidays” benefit dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 9. Proceeds will benefit children through charities such as the Christmas Box House, Neighborhood House, The Sharing Place, Ronald McDonald House, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. For more information, contact Third & Main at 304-2210

Many businesses are working hard to promote the United Way of Salt Lake. For example, you can purchase a card for $20 at Wells Fargo that is good for a 20 percent discount at over 30 stores at The Gateway. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the cards will go to 100 local programs supported by the United Way.

Celtic Bank is celebrating its first year of operations. Celtic Bank targets small businesses and developers.

Why join the Salt Lake Chamber? Reason #1. Instant credibility. Chamber membership tells your clients and customers that you are forward-looking, committed to the community, and smart.

I spoke with someone the other day who went to one of the Chamber’s Business After Hours. He told me that he made a business contact there that ended up in a $17,000 contract for his company. There’re never any guarantees, but you just may find your next lucrative business relationship at this month’s Business After Hours at the historic Peery Hotel on November 21st at 5 p.m. To sign up call the Chamber at 328-5050 or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
