TEMPLETON, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts high school teacher is facing charges after police say he had inappropriate contact with a student.
Matthew Kacavich was arrested Friday. He's charged with giving obscene matter to a minor and trafficking of a person under 18 for sexual servitude. Kacavich is a teacher at Narragansett Regional High School in Templeton.
Police say they launched an investigation earlier this month after someone reported Kacavich to a school resource officer.
Police say a former student who had a relationship with Kacavich after graduating told them that Kacavich may be in a relationship with a current student.
Kacavich is being held on bail and is awaiting arraignment.
It's unclear if he has a lawyer who could comment.
A phone number listed for Kacavich in online public records rang unanswered Saturday.
