This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
Coming up on October 15, 16 and 17, the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce and seven other South Valley Chambers will present the South Town Business Expo at the South Town Exposition Center. The three-day event is a tradeshow focusing on the needs of all sizes of business. It has proven to be a big benefit to anyone who sells, distributes or manufactures any type of product or service to industry, business or individuals. And for visitors, it's a chance to gain first-hand experience of new and innovative products and services that are changing the business world. Exhibitors, both large and small, planning booths for the event include everything from computer-related companies to resorts, restaurants and transportation.
The Expo has become more than a tradeshow. Organizers say last year more than 5,500 business people from throughout the Salt Lake and Utah valleys attended the upbeat, festive event and took advantage of the networking opportunities available. Among that crowd were many decision-makers looking for answers to their buying needs.
As part of the program, Dr. Lynn Cundiff, president of Salt Lake Community College, and David Politis, owner of Politis Communications, are expected to speak. Dr. Cundiff will speak at noon on Wednesday, October 16, on technology and supplying the needs of business with tech-savvy workers. David, an award-winning PR, investor relations and marketing communications consultant to high-tech organizations, will speak at noon on Thursday, October 17.
To kick off the South Town Business Expo, an opening night party is planned for Tuesday, October 15 at 5 p.m. The party will include a balloon drop, entertainment, door prizes, drawings and plenty of food. There is no cost to attend the Expo; only a business card is required for admission. For more information, log on to sandychamber.com
