LUTHER, Okla. (AP) — A 4.3 magnitude earthquake has struck central Oklahoma in the same area that's been rattled by quakes over the past week.

The U.S. Geological Survey says Wednesday's quake was centered near Luther, about 28 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injury, but the USGS says the quake was widely felt throughout the Oklahoma City area.

Luther has been beset by earthquakes over the past week, recording a 3.5 magnitude quake Tuesday and a 4.0 magnitude quake Aug. 10.

Scientists have linked Oklahoma's earthquakes to the underground injection of wastewater during oil and gas production. Luther is in the Arbuckle formation, where state regulators have asked producers to reduce wastewater disposal volumes.
