ARCHES NATIONAL PARK, Utah (AP) — Arches National Park will close a popular campground for much of 2017 during a major road reconstruction project.
The closure is part of a National Park Service program that officials say will improve about 26 miles of roads and pullouts, potentially causing congestion and closures next year. The Devil's Garden Campground will close from March through October and hiking areas like Devil's Garden, Delicate Arch and the Windows will occasionally shut down.
Park Service officials say construction crews will try to minimize the impact on visitors. In a news release, officials say traffic delays will be limited to 30 minutes or less per work zone.
