Lorraine Miller, founder of Cactus & Tropicals, a Salt Lake garden center, has sold her business. Lorraine ran Cactus & Tropicals for 28 years. The new owners are Scott and Karin Pynes.

Cameron Construction was awarded the contract for the renovation of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Kearns. The project will cost $1.3 million dollars and includes a 13,000 square foot addition.

Sandy City awarded Camco Construction the contract to build the new River Oaks Country Club. The club, located at 9400 South Riverside Drive, will be completed by April of 2003.

According to the Wells Fargo Wasatch Front area Cost of Living Report, the cost of living fell 0.5 percent in August. This is after three consecutive months of increases in the cost of living. The decline is largely due to lower grocery, housing, and transportation costs. Inflationary forces remain at bay.

SkyWest Airlines took delivery of their 50th Bombardier manufactured Canadair Regional Jet.
