DETROIT (AP) — Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera was not in the starting lineup Tuesday because of a strained biceps muscle.
Cabrera was hurt Monday while reaching for a wild throw from pitcher Daniel Norris in the first inning. He stayed in the game long enough to bat twice, then left after the fourth.
Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said Cabrera asked to play Tuesday but the team decided to be cautious. Ausmus does not expect him to miss more than two-to-three games, and there was no thought of putting Cabrera on the disabled list.
