This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
What is the business of photogrammetry? Well, after a recent visit to Aero-Graphics, Inc., I learned that photogrammetry is about making reliable land measurements from the use of aerial photographs.
Aero-Graphics, which is located in Salt Lake, has been in business for almost 40 years, offering aerial photography, surveying and mapping services.
Since opening its doors in 1965, Aero-Graphics has made a concerted effort to remain at the forefront of mapping technology, providing its customers with the best possible products. During the past six years, the company has invested over $1 million in new equipment. And five years ago, Aero-Graphics purchased a new Leica Wild RC-30 aerial camera--the most advanced camera system of its kind available. The camera features high-resolution optics, forward motion compensation and Airborne GPS capability.
Aero-Graphics operates a turbocharged Cessna 207 aircraft to capture the imagery, and the latest hardware and software systems are used to produce digital topographic maps and ortho-rectified imagery. The company also has a fully-equipped photo lab for handling all aspects of black-and-white photography.
Some of Aero-Graphics' customers include utility and mining companies, transportation departments, consulting engineers and state and local municipalities.
Aero-Graphics has built a reputation for professionalism and quality workmanship. The company employs 30 mapping and surveying technicians, including a professional land surveyor who provides targeting and surveying services in support of mapping. All of Aero-Graphics' services are provided from one facility that was recently completed and designed to optimize mapping operation and offer turn-key capabilities. In essence, you can tell Aero-Graphics your photogrammetry needs, and they'll do the rest.
