RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police have identified the driver and passenger of a vehicle who were killed over the weekend by a suspected drunken driver who allegedly ran a red light on the east side of town.

Police identified the victims Monday as 30-year-old Saul Garcia and 29-year-old Janet Gonzalez-Contreras, both of Sparks.

Investigators say the victims were in a vehicle headed eastbound on Mill Street when they were hit by the other vehicle headed north on Rock Boulevard shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday.

The driver of the other vehicle remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. His name has not been released.

Reno police say he's expected to be booked on two counts of driving under the influence.
