The Davis Chamber of Commerce announced its plans for the first ever Davis County Tourism Guide.

The Utah Life Science Association, in cooperation with the University of Utah, begins a seminar series entitled, “Biotechnology and Medical Devices for Utah Professionals.” The first session is tomorrow, September 18th. The series is sponsored by the Salt Lake City office of the law firm Stoel Rives. For more information contact Kevin Laurence at 578-6932.

Audio products from ClearOne Communications have been specified for installation at the University of Texas at Dallas. The products will be used in six classrooms and four lecture halls.

Utah Business magazine has named The 24-Carrot Manager: A Remarkable Story of How a Leader Can Unleash Human Potential as the Best Local Business Book of 2002. The book was written by experts at O.C. Tanner and is a sequel to Managing With Carrots.

According to Creighton University’s Mountain States Business Conditions survey, the overall index for August improved. The new job index is showing positive signs as it also went up. Confidence among supply managers and business leaders, however, declined for the second straight month.
