LAS VEGAS (AP) — Fire officials are investigating the cause of an overnight blaze after a man was found dead in a burned home several miles east of downtown Las Vegas.

Deputy Clark County Fire Chief Jeff Buchanan says the fire was reported about 3:30 a.m. Monday at a one-story house on East Boston Avenue near Lamb Boulevard.

Buchanan says firefighters had trouble attacking flames at first due to the intense heat.

When they were finally able to get inside and douse flames, crews found the man's body.

His name wasn't immediately made public.

Buchanan says investigators haven't made a damage estimate.
