Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel changes. SkyWest Airlines announced the promotion of Amy Quinn to Director of InFlight Training. ClearOne Communications named Gregory Rand as Chief Operations Officer.
According to the Utah Travel Council, the Olympic Winter Games marketing efforts were the most successful ever. For example, more than 1,525,000 tickets were sold--representing 95 percent of the available tickets. The local sponsorship programs raised $876 million dollars for SLOC.
Morris Murdock Business Travel was hired by Albertsons to manage its business travel needs. Morris Murdock has serviced a large portion of Albertsons travel over the last five years. Under the new agreement they will be Albertsons’ exclusive travel agency of record.
Here’s a Chamber history fact: In 1902, over $13,000 dollars was spent to furnish the first headquarters of the Salt Lake Chamber. In today’s dollars, that would be over $236,360 dollars.
You may have noticed a lot of things turning 100 this year. For example It is the 100th anniversary of the birth of author Langston Hughes.
