BANGKOK (AP) — Police in Thailand have confirmed that another person has died in a new bomb blast in the southern resort city of Hua Hin. Three others were wounded. The explosion came hours after twin blasts killed one woman and wounded around 20. Several other explosions have also been reported in other cities in southern Thailand.
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korea plans to review if there was any negligence in the government's handling of sick workers' inquiries about workplace toxins. An Associated Press investigation found the government repeatedly withheld such information following requests from Samsung.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The eldest son of Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck died Thursday at his Santa Barbara, California, home. Thomas Steinbeck was a prominent author and screenwriter in his own right. In addition to being a writer, the younger Steinbeck fiercely defended his father's work. Thomas Steinbeck was 72.
