People in the area reported hearing an explosion. At least part of the building collapsed. Meanwhile, authorities in western New York say they've contained a massive blaze at a recycling facility, but it's still not under control. The fire broke out early yesterday evening in Lockport, forcing Niagara County residents nearby to evacuate.

TORONTO (AP) — Canadian authorities say they may have stopped a suicide bombing from happening. Earlier this year a court ordered him not to associate with any terrorist organization.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — In Rio today, golf tees off for the first time at the Olympics since 1904. VENICE, Calif. (AP) — Snapchat has removed a filter for photos that some say promoted racist Asian stereotypes.
